To 3,000 tons of fat contaminated with dioxin were delivered to feed producers in Germany, but no amount of fats are not delivered abroad, said the German Ministry of Agriculture in a letter to parliamentarians.
More than 1,000 poultry and pig farms, which are most in northern Germany, had to suspend deliveries following the discovery of dioxin, initially eggs.
Possible source of this infection are about 3,000 tons of contaminated grease which came from the company Harles & Jentzsch, located in Itersen, northern Germany, which were delivered in November and December in 25 feed producers in four states, says ministry Agriculture in a letter to the parliamentary committee responsible for these issues.
"There was no fat food delivery to other EU countries," the ministry added in the letter.
The dioxin scandal erupted in Germany in the beginning of the week, forcing more than 1,000 farms to cease production and making the 8000 killing of poultry. Yesterday officials had talks about only 527 tons of contaminated feed.
