The Wikimedia, the non-profit organization behind the development of Wikipedia, announced through its official blog that gathered more than 16 million U.S. dollars to keep the popular online encyclopedia "clean" advertising. Around half a million donors have submitted an average of $ 22 to support Wikipedia and its work.
In a few days the encyclopedia closes 10 years of life. All these years the website maintained by donations from users who exceed 400 million per month.
